OCEAN WALK AT NORTH CAMPUS – PHASE III

Ocean Walk is a planned faculty housing development intended to provide affordable for-purchase affordable workforce housing for faculty. It is located on 26.3 acres of land in close proximity to the campus proper and provides residents with direct access to trails and the coastline of Santa Barbara County via the newly restored North Campus Open Space.

Phase III consisted of thirty detached single-family two and three-story residences ranging in size from 1,400 to 2,100 square feet. The homes were clustered around protected wetlands and vernal pools restored by the University of California Santa Barbara’s Cheadle Center for Biodiversity & Ecological Restoration [CCBER]. The project was designed by Architects Brian Cearnal and Joseph Andruilatus who chose to leverage local mission and craftsman bungalow styles as the basis for their architectural design. All homes were wood framed, stick built, and complied with LEED For Homes USGBC standards. The residences were constructed by McCarthy Companies of Ventura, California between 2015 and 2016.
