820 MONTECITO ST

Developed as a research and development building in the Manufacturing Zone, this three-story project was purchased by the owners as a permitted project in a Spanish Colonial Revival style. Sculpt Architect’s services involved the re-visioning of the existing project in a Moorish style, processing of the related changes thru Santa Barbara’s Architectural Board of Review, interior design and finish selection and procurement, and full service Project Management and Construction Administration support.

Exterior detailing includes traditional tadelakt ziggurat tile around the central Moorish archway leading to the warehouse, locally handcrafted mahogany guardrails, and bespoke glass-fiber-reinforced-concrete [GFRC] wainscot tiles for which an original jig and molds were constructed and poured by Sculpt staff.
